Terence O’Connor Reserve

Born c1799 in County Kerry,Ireland, Terence O’Connor is believed by many to be the first European settler in the Berwick district, holding the Cardinia Creek run from 1838 until 1851. Following the sale of the Cardinia Creek run to Captain Robert Gardiner, O’Connor built The Meadows at the end of Thompsons Road, Cranbourne which remained with the O’Connor family until the death of Terence’s niece Miss Sarah O’Connor in 1914.
Terence O’Connor did not marry and died on 11 January 1887 and is buried in the Berwick Cemetery.

    I am saddened to find a tree removed from this site, I have regularly spent time here Bird watching, sad to think our parks stand in need of protection from wealthy home owners who think they own everything around them
