Ken Reedy’s parents came to Hampton Park in 1918 to take up a / soldier settlement farm, part of which is now known as Huntington Park Estate. / He was born in 1929 and has all his life played a vital part in establishing Hampton Park as a community.

Ken was honoured in 1983 as Citizen of the Year for his achievements by the / Shire of Cranbourne. He has continued to devote his energy to many projects / with the Hampton Park Progress Association which made him a Life Member.

An inaugural member of the Hampton Park CFA he was awarded the Queen’s Medal / in 1974. Ken is a Past President and Life Member of the CFA he served for 50 years.

Ken’s interest in opportunities for youth involved him in the development of / the First Hampton Park Scouts and the building of their hall.

He was a member of committees for the Hampton Park Primary and Doveton / North Technical Schools, as well as the establishment of the Uniting Church / in this district.

Now a Life Member, his passion for football saw him as a player with Hampton / Park, and many players saw him on the South West Gippsland Tribunal.

Affectionately known among footballers as “Dirty No. 8”, Ken Reedy is a gentle / giant of a man whose leadership and contribution to life in Hampton Park has / seen it flourish as a community.

This reserve is named for Ken Reedy, a man whose motivation has always been: / “To make Hampton Park a better place”

  1. I came with my kids on Sunday and they loved it !! The only problem was that someone was using the dirt roads to give driving to his kid!!! I don’t think that’s a good idea if others children are riding or playing around!!
