John Duff Memorial Fire Brigade Training Track

John Duff (1933-1979) was the Captain of the Koo Wee Rup Fire Brigade from 1972 until his sudden death in 1979. Opened in 1984 by the CFA’s Chief Officer, Mr Orchard, the training track was a joint venture of the Koo Wee Rup Fire Brigade and the Koo Wee Rup Lions Club.

John Duff was an extremely active supporter of his local community: a member of the Koo Wee Rup Fire Brigade, a charter member of the Koo Wee Rup Lions Club, former player, and present time keeper, head trainer and life member of the Koo Wee Rup Football Club, an active member of St John’s congregation at Koo Wee Rup and a member of the Knights of the Southern Cross at the time of his death.
