Gus Ryberg Hall

The Gus Ryberg Hall at Hogan Park is home to the 1st Emerald Scout Group – the oldest scout group in the Dandenong Ranges. The scouts moved from Saint Marks Church to Hogan Park in 1958.

One of the first group of boys in the 1st Emerald Scout Group in 1923, Gus was honoured for his commitment to Emerald and its community.

Sadly, when we visited neither the hall nor the park displayed any signage informing people of their history and heritage.

We found a short video about Gus Ryberg on YouTube, it’s just over 3 minutes long, you can watch it here or over on YouTube.
